16.Jul.2011 Spotlight Saves the Day

Like the rest of the country, the temperature is extremely hot in Chicago with some days having heat indices of over one hundred degrees Fahrenheit.  In fact, many residents throughout the area are still suffering from power outages from a recent storm. Luckily, I had my Spotlights™ handy when the power at home was out.  With Spotlights™ placed strategically in my car, purse, kitchen, bathroom, etc., I am always ready at a moment’s notice.

The other day, I received a personal testimonial from a lady who works in the same office building.  I had given her a couple of Spotlights™ shortly after we met, and she said that the Spotlight™ in her car “saved the day.”  She and her husband went out for the evening, and when they returned to their car, they were unable to drive out of their parking spot.  It was a very warm night, and they were anxious to get home.  However, they had no idea what was going on with their car.  She remembered that she left her Spotlight™ in the 12-volt power outlet socket.  When she brought it outside to look at the car, they noticed that it was so warm that the tar stuck onto the tires.  Once they peeled the tar off their tires, they were able to drive out of their spot.  She thanked me for introducing Spotlight™ to her.

We always like hearing Spotlight™ stories.  It makes us feel good when people tell us how glad that they are that they have Spotlights™, and I am personally proud to be part of the Spotlight™ family.

Remember, we are continuously featuring models, cars, and light graffiti artists.  With an existing Spotlight™ fan base, this is your opportunity to shine and gain more exposure!  Remember that being featured can lead to additional opportunities with Spotlight™, so this is a perfect opportunity to introduce yourself.

Finally, visit the new website http://www.SpotlightTM.com!  Spotlight™ is the coming together of Spotlight™ rechargeable led light fans worldwide.  Through our free networking site, you are able to interact with other members of the illuminaughty and share photos, videos, groups, reviews, etc.  Of course, the content is not limited to just Spotlight™.

Tomorrow, I have a big hiking trip, and my day pack would not be complete without my Spotlight™!  I made sure that my hiking companions are outfitted with their own Spotlights™, too, as we navigate through the wilderness.

Get Lit,
Abigail

Ethnicity: Hmong
Location: Fayetteville, Arkansas
Height: 5’3″
Weight: 103 lbs
Stats: 32C-26-34
Occupation: Part-time Model
Degree: B.S. Biology
Website: http://www.facebook.com/delight.thao

Describe yourself in three words.
Shy, smart, sweet

What trait do you like most about yourself?
My Smile

How long have you been modeling, and how did you get started?
I started modeling at the age of 16.  My mom actually got me into classes, and things pretty much started from there.

What are some of your modeling highlights so far?
I’ve model for many companies such as Hot Import Nights, Import Face Off, Havoc Nights, Chozen One Productions, Revered Productions, Spo Com, Cup Cakes for Kids, Nukespeed, and many more.  I love to travel and see new places.  The highlights of my modeling career are having the opportunities to see new places, taste new food, and meet great people.

What do you do for fun?
I love hanging out with my family.  We play games, watch movies, and we just make each other laugh.  I love my family.

What is your best beauty secret?
Hmm…  I like to wear tons of mascara.  I put it really close to the lash line and cake it on.  I know that’s bad, but that’s what I do to avoid using eye liner to make my eyes a bit more dramatic without a lot of makeup.

What are some of your upcoming projects?
Well, nothing is set and stone yet, but I will update on my Facebook.  So make sure to come by and check it out.  I’m actually a really down to earth girl.  So always come by and say hi.  I will try to get back to you with any questions you have as fast as I can.

Do you have any advice for aspiring models?
Keep trying.  Keep your head up high no matter what people may say about you.  But always, there are many people in this field that will try to change you or fix you.  Always be true to yourself.

Why do you love 12VSpotlight?
Because 12VSpotlight is about team work, being creative, handing out product and promotional items, talking to people, hitting message boards, emails, and following instructions.  I can learn a lot from people who works this hard.

Do you have any closing remarks?
I just want to take this time to thank 12VSpotlight for giving me the spot light for this month.  Also, thank you to all my supporters and fans.  A special thanks to my family.  To the viewers, you don’t always have to be the prettiest, or sexiest person to make it in life.  Know who you are and always be aware of what’s around you.  Life will only get easier if you just have a little fun.

04.Jan.2011 Model Spotlight – January 2011 – Sarah Alami

Name: Sarah Alami
Ethnicity: Arabic/Irish
Locations: Chicago, Illinois and Los Angeles, California
Height: 5’4″
Weight: 110 lbs
Stats: 34-26-34
Occupation: Model/Actress
Website: http://www.sarahalami.com

Describe yourself in three words.
Funny, sweet, nice

What trait do you like most about yourself?
Having the ability to make others laugh

How long have you been modeling, and how did you get started?
I was 20 and entered a model search where I had to pay $500. Then, they had gotten me an agent where I had to pay another $2000 and did nothing for me. As I was about to give up, I went downtown with my comp cards and individually handed them out to REAL agencies who then started sending me out on auditions. A few years later, I was able to quit having side jobs and made enough money to do this full-time.

What are some of your modeling highlights so far?

  • National ad campaigns for Olay Cosmetics, Lays, Pepsi, Motorola, Walgreens, CVS, Medela, Walmart, Seventh Ave, Kohls, Ashley Furniture, Bacardi, and Miller Lite
  • National commercials for Budweiser, Cricket Wireless, Garmin, Wahl Clippers, 2016 Olympic Bid, Sears, and Kmart
  • Deal or no Deal video game
  • Numerous industrials
  • Recently was on Vh1′s reality show “Scream Queens 2″

What do you do for fun?
Spend time with my daughter, play Wii, and travel

What is your best beauty secret?
Fake eyelashes, black liquid eyeliner, pencil in eyebrows while all keeping the look natural

What are some of your upcoming projects?
Currently working on the new feature film “The Thief”

Do you have any advice for aspiring models?
Yes, do not give up if someone tells you no.  And don’t show up too natural.  They would always tell me show up wearing no make-up. You have to look and feel beautiful if you want to book jobs.  Make-up is fine – just don’t over do it!  Also, don’t let height discourage you.  I’m 5’4″ and have been very successful as a model.  It’s called print modeling.  You won’t find yourself on a runway, but you will make tons of money and see your face in magazines and in stores!

Why do you love 12VSpotlight?
Because it empowers and inspires people to go after their dreams and work towards there goals.  Sometimes when someone is looking to model, they don’t know where to turn and scared they may end up spending a fortune. 12Vspotlight is somewhere they can go for great advice and everyone on here has been in their shoes!

Do you have any closing remarks?
I am happy to do the interview with you and really hope to inspire a younger generation of aspiring models. If I can do it, they can. When you have a dream, it’s always in your hands to make it happen. Nothing will just come to you. Have patience, work very hard, and then it will come.

04.Oct.2010 Light Graffiti Artist – October 2010 – Darren Pearson

Name: Darren Pearson

Who has influenced you and your work?
My family, my life, my friends…  and many, many photographers

What are some interesting projects you’ve worked on?

A light painted animation about the ghosts of Pacman, a light-painted campaign shoot for Barack Obama before he won the office (was never publicized), and various band photos

What are some of your upcoming projects?
More road trips definitely – I’d like to illustrate the Native American god of fertility ‘kokopelli’ surfing ‘the wave’ in Arizona.  (Google that for sure.  It’s a trip.)  More art shows, possibly around the theme of the afterlife -  I’d like to put together a book at some point in the near future on what happens to the energy in our bodies after we pass.

Do you have any advice for people who want to get into light graffiti?
Yeah, peep this tutorial I made: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TeTzUzPfleU.  Take a lot of pictures -  it’s trial and error mostly. Remember that anything that produces light is fair game!  That means prisms, 3D glasses over the lens, gels, flashlights big & small, sparklers, fireworks, any flammable materials for that matter, etc.  They all have different looks…  Combine them together!

Why do you love spotlight?
Because you never have to replace the batteries and they’re tough as nails

Who do you want to give a shout out/big ups to?
Shout out to my family for their love and support.  It means everything.

14.Sep.2010 Light Graffiti Spotlight – September 2010 – Paul Stokes

Name: TheFotoGraffer – Paul Stokes
Location: Edinburgh, Scotland
Websites: http://www.flickr.com/photos/23511178@N05
http://www.facebook.com/pages/TheFotoGraffer-Photography-Light-Graffiti/113319775354832?ref=mf

How did you get into light graffiti?
I started studying photography at Stevenson’s college 2 years ago. I stumbled across an image done by Michael Bosanko, a light man sat in a chair outside. I hadn’t seen anything like it before and was intrigued from that moment on. Since then I’ve been playing around with lights, making my own, and learning all the other skills of photography.

Describe your work/style in three words:
Daring, artistic and creative

Who has influenced you and your work?
I was originally inspired by Michael Bosanko, and more recently, TCB has been quite inspirational. I like to see people push the boundaries.

What are some interesting projects you’ve worked on?
I found doing CD artwork interesting and good fun to do. I find a lot of musicians are interested in my style of work, which suits me, as I find them quite rewarding. Merging nude photography and light graffiti is always interesting, too.

What are some of your upcoming projects?
I’ve got an all night session planned for next week. I have these nights every now and again. It’s good chance to meet up with friends and have a good laugh.

Do you have any advice for people who want to get into light graffiti?
My advice would be to make your own tools. I think the best way to stand out from the crowd is with your own unique light sources. There are a lot of people trying out light graffiti, and a lot of people doing it with the basic lights… Be unique – get creative.

Why do you love 12Vspotlight?
I love spotlight because it gives light graffiti artists some exposure, and with a good selection of categories, it’s always got interesting reading.

Who do you want to give a shout out/ big ups to? I’d like to give a shout out to Murray, Paulish, Jamie, Damon, Rachel, my assistants, and friends.
